Betty was born on September 12, 1926 in Clinton Illinois to the late Perry Coppenbarger on January 9, 1954 in Clinton Illinois. Betty was the matriarch of the family, the foundation that everyone depended on, nurturing all of her offspring to be their best. She was a selfless, loving and generous woman who would give her last penny away to someone in need. Betty and her Husband, lived in Kansas City their entire working career, when they retired, they returned to Turney Missouri to enjoy what the farm had to offer. She eventually had goats, chickens, a garden, and marvelous fruit trees on her farm. All these things she loved to share with her children and grandchildren when they visited. Whenever her grandchildren did visit, whom she adored, she would love to make them her famous apple pie, using the same recipe that her father taught her, with the special ingredient being the addition of prayer. Mom, Grandma, Great grandma was always there, Anytime, anywhere. Even if it was just to listen, she always had time for her family. She never gave up on any of her family, even when we acted up, or maybe disappointed her, she unconditionally loved us. She “mothered” everyone, always giving sound advice and direction. She was a mother not only to her family but anyone who came thru her front door. She left a lasting impression on all who met her. Betty is survived by her four children: Julianne (Ted) Moore, Steven (Lori) Klegseth, Karen (John) Babcock, Peggy (Kevin) Vanderheiden, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her four siblings: Jim, Lois, Philip, and Charlie.
