Jeff graduated from Richmond High School in 1973. He was married out of high school and his son Chad was born in 1975. Life happened and Jeff enlisted in The United States Navy. He met his wife Maaike in San Diego where he was stationed. Like the crazy kids they were, they got married in Tijuana, Mexico on January 19th, just 2 weeks after meeting each other. They were legally married on January 25th, 1980, in San Diego, California, where their daughter Traci was a flower girl. Jeff was stationed in Sicily for 2 ½ years where their daughter Shanna was born. Jeff remained enlisted in the Navy for 8 years, stationed at Miramar Naval Station in San Diego, CA. Their youngest daughter Amanda was born in San Diego at Balboa Naval Hospital. In 1989 the family moved to Missouri where they put down roots and raised their family. After retirement, Jeff started working his dream job at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park for the last 6 seasons. Jeff was an avid hunter, rabid KU fan (ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!!!) music lover, conservationist, loving husband, father, grandpa, papa, and the best little dog dad to Tilly and Maya the Yorkies.
