Obituary of John Wendell Cribbs

John Wendell Cribbs, Jr. 82 years, of Kearney, passed away on Sunday August 15, 2021 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, December 20, 1938 in Coal Township, Pennsylvania the son of the late John and Lillian (Bingaman) Cribbs. Jack was first and foremost a minister of the Gospel of Christ and dedicated his life to the ministry. Throughout his life, he wore many hats. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict and was a Pennsylvania State Trooper. He pastored several churches ranging from overseas in Thornbury, England; to Highland, Kansas; and Manchester, New Hampshire. He also guest spoke often. He was the chaplain at Graco Children's Products and director of public safety at both Bob Jones University and Pensacola Christian University. He served in many areas at Pillsbury Bible College before retiring to Missionary Acres in southern Missouri. He and Kitty relocated to Kearney around ten years ago to be near their daughter. Survivors Include: His wife of 62 years, Katharine (Kitty) Cribbs of Kearney, MO; one daughter, Tamera (Jeff) Couchman of Kearney, MO; one son, Perry (Michelle) Cribbs of Ash, NC; seven grandchildren: Avery Zorn, Austin Zorn, Quentin Zorn, Thomas Cribbs, Taylor Couchman, Katie Couchman, and his brother Don Whitko. Jack was preceded in death by his parents John and Lillian Cribbs, sister Tamera Wright, and granddaughter Maggie Cribbs John Cribbs Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug 18 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Kearney 925 E. State Route 92, Kearney, MO. John Cribbs Internment will take place on Thursday, Aug 19 at 12:00-12:30 PM at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery 20109 MO-13 BUS, Higginsville .
