Obituary of William Robert Nelson, Jr

William Robert "Bob" Nelson, Jr, 65 years, of Kansas City, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Truman Medical Center. He was born on Monday, November 21, 1955, in Independence, the son of the late William and Anna (née Lee) Nelson. Survivors include: • Anna Nelson, mother, of Independence MO • Pamela (Matt) Jackson, sister, of Raytown MO • David Nelson, brother, of Independence MO • 4 nephews • 2 nieces, including Jessica Nelson, who was also his guardian • 7 grand-nieces and -nephews Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan 29, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:30 PM at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Liberty. The funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan 29, 2021, at 12:30 PM following the Visitation. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM at Salem Cemetery. Bob loved Dr Pepper and Chocolate Long-Johns. He also loved Elvis, Bowling and watching the TV show cops. He enjoyed being around family and laughing. He had his special pet names and a bright sense of humor. Bob lived in the group home of White Oaks. The staff at the home became like family to Bob, and his family would like to thank them for their care, hospitality, and love they showed him over the years. Memorial donations may be directed to Special Olympics.
